Trip Overview

Since it was opened as a trekking route in 1977, the Annapurna Circuit has gained the reputation as being one of the most spectacular and varied treks in the world. Starting from less than 1,000 meters and climbing to the Thorung La at 5,416 meters, this trek provides the opportunity to experience the diversity of the flora and fauna of the Himalaya. The highest point of the Annapurna Circuit is the Thorung La pass at 5,416 meters. Due to the difficulties inherent in crossing such a high pass, the circuit is usually trekked in a counter - clockwise direction. In traveling clockwise, the longer ascent and shorter descent from west to east is too much for most people to manage in a single day. During these last few days of this trek, the countryside takes on a more agricultural appearance as we pass through a most fertile region full of rice paddy fields
