Trip Overview

The trip for this Kaligandaki river rafting begins and ends in Pokhara, the most beautiful valley of Nepal. The Kali begins its journey high on the Tibetan plateau in the kingdom of Mustang. Plunging its way down through the Himalayas, the river carves the deepest gorge in the world between the two 8000m peaks Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The Kali Gandaki was first opened to commercial use in 1991. The journey descends through challenging white water, unique cultures and amazing beaches that leaves a memorable time in your lifetime.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Kathmandu-Arrival

    Our staff will meet you at the airport. Pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Day 2

    Kathmandu-Beni-Modhi Khola

    After breakfast, we drive about 3-4 hours to the boarding point near Beni. Upon arrival, we will unload all equipment and receive a full security briefing. Lunch and then the guide will take you to the starting point of the river ready to start your exciting 3-day raft trip. The first day we start with some class III rapids. This is a warm-up for the team, after 10/15 minutes, you will meet two big class 4 rapids, namely 'Small Brother' and 'Big Brother'. Your guide will make you work hard to do exercises to work as one. After spotting the fast, the safety kayaks will go first, then the raft. Shortly after meeting these two big rapids we will reach Modi Khola, where we will choose the beach for the evening camping. We will now unload the equipment and release the rest day.
  • Day 3

    Purti Ghat

    Once the rafts are packed we begin to descend the river for a day mixed with calm adrenaline and spectacular scenery, including views of Annapurna 1 and Himachuli. We will cover many sections of Class III and the challenging Class IV "REFUND". This section of the river is abundant with vineyards, wildlife and lush vegetation hanging from the walls of the cliff. Our campsite is located below the village of Purti Ghat.
  • Day 4

    Seti Beni-Pokhara

    Shortly after returning to the water, we reach the sacred village of Seti Beni. There is usually a large audience to watch and listen to the show as each team negotiates the fast that has formed around this holy place. Shortly after, it's time for the trip to end. Our bus will be waiting for us. We load the equipment and we prepare the return by bus to Pokhara. In the evening you can visit the Pokhara Valley.
  • Day 5

    Pokhara - Kathmandu

    After breakfast, return to Kathmandu. The rest of the day can be spent touring Kathmandu for shopping and visiting the city of your choice.
  • Day 6

    Day of departure

    Our office staff will transfer you to the airport for your upcoming flight.
