Trip Overview
Jomsom, capital town of Mustang district, is one of the developed towns in high altitudes. It is also known as Dzongsam or New Fort and is situated at an altitude of 2,800m. You can find many Holy Hindu rocks near the banks of River Gandaki , whose both the banks situates the beautiful Jomsom town. As the district headquarters, it is primarily an administrative and commercial center with government officials and merchants rubbing shoulders with the local residents of the region, known as Thakalis. Nearby you can find the Jomsom Airport where you can get the regular flight to different places of Nepal. On the way to Jomsom you can view the fascinating mountains too. The people and culture here in Jomsom is both Hindus and Buddhism. The trail's highest point is Muktinath at 3800 m, a holy site of temples sacred to both Buddhists and Hindus for centuries.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1
Kathmandu-Pokhara
Early morning after breakfast, drive to Pokhara. Pokhara Explorer Valley-Devi's Falls, navigation in Fewa Lake and Mahendra Cave. Overnight at the hotel in Pokhara. -
Day 2
Pokhara-Tatopani
After breakfast, drive from Pokhara to Tatopani (6 hours drive) by 4X4 vehicle (maximum 5 people by jeep) and transfer to Lodge Dhaulagiri. Night at the hotel. -
Day 3
Jomsom
After breakfast, drive to Jomsom (6 hours) and transfer to the hotel. Rest. Night at the hotel. -
Day 4
Jomsom
We have an excursion trip to Kagbeni by jeep. In the meantime, you have to walk about 30 minutes from the jeep station. Later, return to the train station and head to the Muktinath Temple, a famous Hindu temple. In the late afternoon, return to the jeep station and return to Jomsom. Overnight at the hotel in Jomsom. -
Day 5
Jomsom-Pokhara
Early morning return flight to Pokhara. Half day sightseeing in the Pokhara Valley. Overnight at the hotel in Pokhara. -
Day 6
Pokhara - Kathmandu
Have breakfast at the hotel and return to Kathmandu.
