Trip Overview
Sunkoshi River rafting considered as the powerful and dangerous white water rafting in Nepal. The rapids in this river are high, powerful and long. At the right flow it’s an incredible combination of white water, scenery, villages, and truly quiet and introspective evenings on huge sandy beaches along what many people consider to be one of the world's 10 classic river journeys. This river origins near from the Shisha Pangma, in Tibet and as like other rivers joins the Saptakoshi and finally descends to River Gange in India. The first 02 days are easy and allow enough time to train you and challenge the further rapids in days ahead. . The rapids have acquired names like Meat Grinder, High Anxiety, Jaws and Big Dipper, from previous experiences on expeditions. Get ready to experience the powerful rapids in Sunkoshi River Rafting.

Day 01
Kathmandu Arrival
Our staff will meet you at the airport. Pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu. -
Day 02
Dolalghat
Early in the morning, we will meet at the hotel and we will transfer to our private vehicle with our backpacks and all equipment. Then drive to Dolalghat (02 hours), our starting point of Sunkoshi. Upon arrival, unload our backpacks and equipment. Lunch will be served and our leader will give a brief safety talk and practice paddling techniques. The first and second days are easy to paddle. The big one that you will meet today is a fast rotten "Grotto" class 4+. We will choose our beach campsite, where dinner will be served in the splendor of the starry sky. -
Day 03
Rafting
After breakfast, we go straight down to the water. Today we are going to meet a big "meat grinder" class 4 + fast. It is quite straight in the center avoiding the holes left and right. A few kilometers down, there is a magnificent Shiva temple overlooking the two rivers, Sunkoshi and Tamakoshi, and we are camping there tonight. -
Day 04

Today, a few kilometers below the confluence of the Likhu Khola is a short fast Class 3 'Pre-Anxiety' followed quickly by a long class 4 'High Anxiety' with a large hole halfway to the left and a series of holes at the bottom. Float a moment, then camp. -
Day 05
Rafting
This day starts with several Class 3+ rapids and then a quick stop to buy food and maybe beer. Then get ready for a big and interesting 'Harkapur 2 and 3 fastest fast on the river which should be carefully inspected. -
Day 06
Rafting
A few kilometers below Harkapur, the Dudh Kosi River joins the Sun Kosi from the left. Below, the river expands into an arid area of gravel. You meet some small rapids and will teach you in another well-named fast 'Jaws'. Camp -
Day 07
Rafting
Today is a difficult day as you will encounter most of the 4+ rapids - you are directly in the good Rhino Rock fast which is a grade 4+ followed by "Jungle Corridor" a kilometer of continuous white water. Waterfalls cascades on both sides of the river. A waterfall makes a great place for a team shower. Camp -
Day 08
Rafting
The last days are mostly wave trains if you are interested, you can try kayaking where our experts will teach you the basic skills needed to maneuver the boats or learn the Eskimo roll. Camp -
Day 09
Kathmandu
The last stretch of the river that brings you to the last class 4+ 'Big Dipper' is a series of huge stationary waves. Then you float on the mighty current, the hills give way to totally flat Terai and the plains of northern India. It's the end of a classic and memorable river trip. We will finish our trip in the afternoon at 14h. After packing all our equipment, we return to Kathmandu at the end of the afternoon. It takes 13 to 14 hours to reach the valley. -
